Vortex uses Java to run the game. You will have to enable Java in order to play Vortex.
To enable Java in Internet Explorer, click "Tools" (at the top of your screen), then click "Internet Options". Click "Security", then check to see if your security level is set to Medium or lower. If you have custom Security settings, make sure that under Java, you have not selected "Disable Java" in "Java Permissions". Also, under "Scripting of Java Applets", select "Enable" or "Prompt". Select Advanced. Under Java VM check "Java logging enabled" and "Java console enabled".
To enable Java in Netscape, click Edit (at the top of your screen), and then click Preferences. Click Advanced then check the boxes for "Enable Java" and Enable "Javascript".
If you are still having problems, try installing Java Virtual Machine from Sun.
